Project Management Strategy

Our PMP-certified consultants have extensive project management and PMO experience that enables us to deliver fast, effective and low cost results to our clients.  Our projects are designed and delivered in accordance with the PMI’s 5 process groups: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling/Monitoring and Closing.  Along each step of the way, Enterprise Iron’s project managers will evaluate progress, mitigate risk and manage the project team so that high quality, low cost results are delivered to our clients.

Our project managers will develop critical project management tools such as:

  • Project Charter and Deliverables Definition
  • Stakeholder Definition/Roles and Responsibilities
  • Work Breakdown Structure
  • Detailed task-level project plan
  • Risks and Issues Management Plans
  • Budget
  • Project Schedule

These project documents allow Enterprise Iron to run an efficient and predictable project and provide the client an ‘open door’ into the project progress.  A systematically planned and executed project ensures that our clients are positioned to achieve their business objectives.

IT Systems Solutions

A strong system development lifecycle methodology is critical for not only meeting business objectives but meeting compliance and audit requirements such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.

In order to control cost, control project schedules, ensure quality and meet compliance needs, a standard SDLC methodology with the following critical elements is required:

  1. Establish high level requirements: Our consultants are trained super users for the software and recordkeeping systems used by our clients.  They are experienced in writing Business Requirements Documents that align IT solutions with business needs and industry standards.
  2. Define detail requirements:  Writing Functional Design Documents requires knowledge and experience on both the user and programmer side of a software system.  Our consultants have worked in both roles and are well versed in writing these documents.
  3. Define the technical design:  Our consultants will work along IT programmers to develop Technical Design Documents.  Our expert consultants review documents and ensure that all business needs are met prior to coding.
  4. Execution: Our project managers will oversee all coding to ensure that cost and schedule constraints are met; as well as deliver regular updates to our client stakeholders.
  5. Quality Assurance: Many of our consultants are highly experienced testers on our clients’ systems.  We are experienced in project management test planning, writing test plans and designing test cases, executing manual and automated testing efforts and delivering a fully documented results document.   Our consultants can write and execute test plans for the following:
    • Unit Testing
    • System Testing
    • Module Testing
    • Integration Testing
    • Regression Testing
    • Automation Testing
    • User Acceptance Testing
  6. Release to Production: Releasing to production can be tricky when it’s important to minimize customer impact.  As SME’s and super users, our consultants can production verify all changes as well as plan for employee and customer impact.  Our consultants can develop, write and perform training for any system changes that affect internal or external users.

Our consultants are subject matter experts on most all of the software products and systems used by our clients and can put their real world experience to use when planning out our client’s IT project needs.
